The Company

Business Process Engineering S.r.l. is an Italian privately held software company developing semantic solutions for business process data and application integration. BPENG was established in 2004 in Rovereto (Trento), and since 2009 is participated by Aliantech S.r.l., the venture capital spinoff of Aliante Partners, an Italian Private Equity fund focused on SMEs.

Nicola Guarino (ISTC-CNR Laboratory for Applied Ontology, Trento): scientific advisor. Pioneer of computational ontologies. Founder and editor-in-chief (with Mark Musen from Stanford University) of the international journal Applied Ontology; general chair for the international conference Formal Ontology in Information Systems (FOIS); founder and president of the  International Association for Ontology and its Applications. Among the best results of his lab, the OntoClean methodology and the DOLCE foundational ontology.
